picked up a set of STI BBS rims - problem

Ok, so I got lucky and nabbed a set of silver STI BBS rims in Orlando the other day. The rims are in great shape, except for one possible problem. On each of them, there's a sort of tapered and splined ring that sits where each of the lug nuts goes. One of them is missing. You can see them pretty easily in this picture (the gold gives better contrast than the silver):

Do I need that little spacer ring or no? Any idea how to get one? I looked on subaruparts.com, but it's not listed there. Anyone know what it's even called?

Not just yes, hell yes. BBS wheels have steel seats for the lugs, and you're missing one. I have an STi, and I didn't even know they were removeable.

They are splined and they don't look like they're supposed to be removed. So where do I get one?

Re: picked up a set of STI BBS rims - problem

Maybe talking to someone at a rim repair shop would help.

Yes, those are mandatory. Wheel repair shops are able to press in new sleeves (at least the one my shop deals with is). How is the alloy surrounding where the sleeve should be? It would have taken considerable force to remove it.

The alloy is fine around it. Looks like it could be popped out from behind relatively easily. I'll see about a wheel repair shop then. Thanks guys.

Yea there are so many threads that end just one post early. And that last post is of course the most important.

Re: picked up a set of STI BBS rims - problem

You could put one in with an air hammer (rivet gun). Use an aluminum or steel flat die, and make sure you lubricate the crap out of it. Make sure it is flat, and turn the psi on the compressor down.

This is of course assuming you have a rivet gun and compressor
