Smile 210 kp/h in 3rd!

Hey!

I just went for a dusk blast on the backroads around here.

I floored it - POWER MODE ON - got to 210 km/h, then it shifted to 4th!!!

WOW!!! WOW! WOW!!!

How fast can this thing go? If I had enough road, I believe the 260 km/h is not too far from reality.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!

You whizzers from Oz will be giving SVX drivers a bad name as speeders.

Re: 210 kp/h in 3rd!

Yeah, we do all right, but same as you I never had mine over 200 or maybe 210 or so.

Maybe some day if I am on the Autobahn in Germany. That would be a good test zone.

Re: 210 kp/h in 3rd!

So, let me get this straight.

You own an SVX.

You live within driving distance to Germany's Autobahns, own an SVX and HAVEN'T driven it on said Autobahns.

You have never been over 200 km/h in your SVX, a GT car capable of 250 km/h or more.

Tell me, have you ever crossed the road on a 'Don't Walk" signal?

LOL!!!

LOL!!!

Ha Ha, yes I have faced down the Red Man and walked Brady.

Regards German autobahns, they are not exactly round the corner. It kind of depends what you regard as within driving distance. Once I get the ferry over to France, I could say Mumbai is within driving distance, but I won't be dropping down there anytime soon for a curry.

I will admit that I have seen way bigger numbers on the clock of my Blackbird than I ever bothered with in any of my SVXes. That's probably because there is no much waiting time involved with the bike. Our roads are good enough here for high speeds in places, but too crowded for it to be safe. Once over 120 in the SVX it's a waiting game, and you never know what the fools up ahead may do as you close on them, they never check their mirrors.

I learned that lesson over 20 years ago the hard way, so now I expect nothing else from other road users other than accept they will be blissfully unaware of your existence if you are traveling at speed. So I don't bother with it, I just drive like a pussycat.

Re: 210 kp/h in 3rd!

So svxistentialist,(what is your real name btw?) what about the M1 ? or the M6? i know theyre over the water but i've been on those and theyre fun even in a rented focus i even managed to get from Surrey to Edinburgh in 8hrs a while back, but i must say the roads over there are so much better than here even the backroads are great!

Re: 210 kp/h in 3rd!

HA ha! All good fun!

No, I realise Germany is more than a hop, skip and jump away, but I would LOVE to drive a car like the SVX at top speed, on an Autobahn, for shi*ts and giggles.

The stretch of road I used, is about 2km long, has no adjoining roads (on this straight) and begins with a down hill approach, allowing a view of the road ahead. I am an idiot, but not a fu*kwit!!!

Australia needs Autobahns. Our road network is a sick joke, that kills hundreds every year. Cars like the SVX have to share the narrow, pot-holed highways with Road-Trains, Buses and drivers of shoddily made, RWD Australian Sedans (and 600hp Nissan imports, driven by 17yo jerks) that love to wrap themselves around trees.

VOTE BRADY!!
