Can you add this info to the How-To Docs

It would be very helpful for the addition of another line in the "Clearing Codes" section after problems have been resolved.

I would add in between lines 2 and 3 saying "if codes don't clear after removing pins, disconnect the negative battery cable and leave sit overnight."
Then step 4 saying connect neg. battery cable next day and check codes again. (steady blinks = everything ok).......something like that.

I was able to do this above and cleared my check engine codes.
Thank you much for those who helped.

Re: Can you add this info to the How-To Docs

Why??

The best way is disconnect neg terminal
turn ignition key on to run... not start position.

Turn headlight switch on a couple of seconds.

Reconnect neg battery terminal and...Just go on with your life.

Keith

Re: Can you add this info to the How-To Docs

Because what you just said did not work. Did you read any of my posts before Keith? The only way mine cleared was to disconnect and let battery sit disconnected overnight. Some others may have experienced the same thing, but it wasn't in the original write-up.
It would be helpful to have this somewhere. I'm sure not all of us know the little tips and tricks.
I was happy to get mine working and would like to share this info.

I did! sometimes they are hard to clear. That may possible be because the problem is still there. I try all the ways till I get it to clear. Sometimes we need a lot of help with these cars!

Whatever does the job for us! Get all the information we can...
Thanks,
Keith

Re: Can you add this info to the How-To Docs

I work at a Subaru dealership where I do collision repair, but they also have a mechinics shop I poke around in here and there and ask the Subaru master mechanics just about every question I can think of.
