Regular Gas- Chip Switch

I installed a computer chip (SmallCar?) about 4 years ago. I never completed installation of the switch that allows the SVX to use Regular Gas Because I was using an effective Gas Pill that helped gas mileage while still using Premium Gas at that time.. .

Last night I just paid $4.14 per gallon premium gas! Does the switch work well? Are many of you using it now? Please give me any info you can ... so I can make an intelligent decision about using that feature.

Yeah, I had the chip in when I had the SVX still. It worked great, no problems. I was getting above 20mpg city in a city that's 5 miles by about 12 miles, so I never got to drive a good distance.

Switch!......???

Does the REGULAR GASOLINE Switch work? Please give me any info about it...before I use it and find it causes some problem..or is useless! Many in earlier threads spoke that our SVX's work OK with Regular Gasoline without modification. BUT, others said that's not good.

Is this a good mod to use? I already believe the ECUTune 1 is giving my SVX a little pep through the chip maps mod.. .

Mine has been installed for a year or more but never tested. I just couldn't stand to think about losing the pep the Stage1v4 had given the car. Now, having not filled the car with fuel for over 2 weeks, through the jump past the "mystical" 4 bucks, I guess I'll be testing it next fill-up! Sorry I couldn't give you more info.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE REG GAS SWITCH IS SUPPOSED TO DO ON THE EcuTune STAGE 1.v4 chip install?....HOW IT WORKS?...AND IF IT DOES AT ALL..? HELP!

I guess it just reduces the full throttle spark advance, to suit a lower octain fuel, without it pinging or knocking.

How do I know??

I only recently purchased an SVX and am just finding out what this car is all about. How do I know if the previous owner installed the Stage One chip/switch?? Is there an easy way to find out? Because I do have a slight engine knock and hoping it isn't fatal. Appreciate any info anyone can offer. Thanks
