First youtube technical request.

Yea, I know I could have done it better. I thought it would be a good test of this format in the technical Q&A section... I think it holds a lot of promise.

Um, OK, so input then? carbon build up on pass side could be p.s. leaking and on drivers side could be (like you said) dipstick issue.

Did you check to see if the intake bolts are tight?

Why pull the motor for the vcg's? they are easy enough to do in the engine bay. I must have missed something.

I'm pulling to...

A. Rebuild the engine in the event that it is is burning oil.

B. Reseal the engine if the internals are fine.

C. Paint the engine bay.

I think all replies in this thread should be in video format...

Fouling plugs or dirty injectors? Smoke might be from a bad combustion - same with the carbon. I'd go there first 'cause that's cheaper than pulling the internals.

Dipstick popping out....bad PCV valve or bad rings=excessive crankcase pressure. Oil burning on startup is usually bad valve seals.

I'd start with the PCV valve and go from there. You'll probably find all the hoses under the intake manifold are brittle as light bulb glass and will break when you start to mess with them. A compression check would be a good idea. Not the easiest thing to do with the engine in the car.

I also get the oil dipstick popping up and I always just push it back down. Why does this happen? I've been told the PCV Valve needs to be cleaned, is this true? or could there be multimple reasons?
