Way Off Topic: Motorcycle helmet care question...

I recently purchased a new helmet, and being the way I am, I want to take care of it.

I asked my wife to pick me up some wax to give it a good once over and she picked this up Meguiars Cleaner-Wax-Paste...

Being that its a cleaner wax, and not a traditional wax, should I worry about it possibly damaging my brand new, never used helmet?

Get some Meguires "Tech Wax"

You don't need to use the cleaner wax as it has a slight rubbing compound in it....so it actually takes a little paint off with every application....probably never be a problem, but no reason to use it on a new helmet

That's exactly what I was afraid of...

...Actually I believe this to be valid and belongs in the "Competition Motorsports" I think we will have more SVXers buying helmets in the near future...specially with the age of our airbags, J/k

I like Future Floor Wax for giving that "showroom shine" to small parts. It will protect the finish, and be totally reversible. It also shouldn't be affected by rain. It's the scale model builder's best friend!

When the Future starts looking dingy, clean it off with ammonia, then reapply. When you wash it off, you'll see the factory shine.

You can apply it with a rag, or a paintbrush, and it won't leave any marks. It's self-leveling.

P.S. It smells nice too

No wax, go to Honda and buy some of their brand of Polisher/Cleaner. The stuff is great. You can use it on every part of your bike or car plus it even is documented as lowering Cd and raising your top speed in a wind tunnel. VERY GOOD STUFF!

Get some rainx for your visor.

Congrats on the new ride! Send me pictures of the 2x4s strapped to the back!

LOL. Course is highly recommended but not as much as paying attention like a hawk to all the idiots in 2 ton death mobiles that don't see you.
