Yeah definiely skip class and come up and visit your old car at Earl's! Even if not though, the "Main Event" is the banquet Saturday night and you can easily make that. We're having the SVX show in the parking lot starting at 5:00pm and dinner's not till 6:00. If you left Federal Way at 1:00pm, you'd be in Lynnwood (where the car show is, about an hour south of Earl's) by 2:30-3:00, depending on traffic.

Oh I am planning on that, lol. Just dont let my professor see this thread
About the small town, try living in Elma, WA. Pop is about 1000, lol. So yeah, everyone knows everyone else. Btw, I dont know if its been covered in another thread, but for whatever reason your closing down NWSVX, is there going to be someone continuing it? Or is it closing down for good? It would be a shame if that is the case, Im sure there would be a few willing people on here to help keep it open... me being one of them...

On the closing of NWSVX...
My intent would be for it to close down. It's a free country and someone else could certainly start a similar club, but I'm taking the name "Northwest SVX" to the grave with me. I've said it many times in that thread and others, the SVX just doesn't seem the right car for a "regional" club right now. There's a small quantity to start with, and then add to that the fact the majority of the world still doesn't consider it an enthusiast's car. It's kinda in the middle. Take something like a Mustang. There are a billion of them. But it's sporty enough and iconic enough that people consider it "club worthy". Even if it's only .05 % of Mustang owners in WA thinking this way, that's still several hundred in one small area. Any given meet or cruise they can have 50-100 cars. Their local membership can be 1,000+. Take something like a Delorean. Less made then the SVX. But every single one of them is owned by a collector/car enthusiast. Aside from a few rich snobs, almost all of them seek out other owners and want to get together. SVX is still in the middle. But there are enough owners out there who are true enthusiasts. It is just with this car, to really constitute a meaningful "club", you kinda have to look at it at a national level. So that's when I took a step back and looked at these forums. Yeah, this isn't a club per se, but it is so much more active than I could ever hope NWSVX was. So many people already confused membership in NWSVX with membership here anyway, I figured why not just let the forums be our connection. THIS is our club, we as proud SVX owners. THIS is where we can plan and advertise our meets, be they local or national. I really started NWSVX because I thought when attracting in new owners we needed more of a "front end" - something with pictures and text explaining what's what. Once they are introduced in, then send them to forums to chat it up. I still think that would be a great idea here, btw. But other than that, I found the NWSVX web site was under used, most people would go there to look at the pretty pictures and then just come back here to post about the event anyway. It seemed redundant, and a waste of a good lot of my time (and $$$). I'd encourage anyone that comes after me (btw, I'm just being dramatic, I'm not going anywhere), to think more nationally and support these forums. Get any owners you meet to sign up here. Encourage the admins to continue to improve things. Plan local events in your area and advertise them here. We are one big family!

Also, as I've said before, we will continue to have our usual assortment of events around the Northwest, planned through these forums. There will be no end to classics like Fall Colors Tour or Dabob!
