Keyless entry?

My SVX has a red LED right above the lock/unlock doors button on the center console. It constantly stays red all the time. Is this for the remote entry? Because I didn't get one of the remotes when I bought the car.

Sounds aftermarket, then again I have a 92.

I thought the only factory security light is the one by the wheel next to the foglights and such?

The key unlocking both doors is the stock function, and how the 92's (without the center switch) work. Little lights that aren't in the button itself sound aftermarket to me. I have an LED on top of the steering column from a previous owner installing an alarm system.

Yeah, mine's got a remote start though, and I still haven't quite figured out how to use it effectively.

It works, but when you get in the car and turn the key to on, it cuts the motor, and I have to start it again... Seems a bit counterproductive to me.

Well...That's royally useless. Mine has a remote start also. Start it, get in, turn key to on, and then press the brake pedal. If I press the brake without the key in it shuts off, the idea being that you have to hit the brakes to put the car in gear, so it's not steal-able while running without the key in it.

You know, I never thought to hold the brakes, I'll try that.
