How ever the clip you show on the "hear alcyone svx" is from the video I have titled "the story behing the SVX". That video you show is 2nd longest to the one I have(about 20 min). I wish I could post it but I have no idea how to get VHS onto my computer. Some of the footage between this and the video I have is redundant. But the video I have shows more about development. Shows the "mule XT6" on the track and a RWD svx and exactly how rear heavy it is(spinning out). For those who come to the 15th ann meet you may get to see in person. So come on, to see a unseen svx video, no distance is to far to go.(lafeyette,IN) No excuses for those not at the 15th!
You mean this video??

Hear "Alcyone SVX"

So seems like Google bought off youtube?? Good to see many SVX videos out there..
Somebody has to post the movie clip from the movie "Loaded Weapon" too. I love that silver SVX drifting out to the street...
That version's music sounded like a Japanese Sims2.

Ok, Ive seen most of the things in that video before in JDM pictures. But in a previous post someone mentioned the stereo deck.... whats the difference? I can see that it looks different, but what made it special? I do agree that USA SVX's got shafted, its a shame.... then to make a "cheaper" model later on? I don't like that idea, I like the SVX as full blown luxury/sports car. LSi has to be my choice over any. Another question, what was the difference in Australian SVX's? I like the color combos that they had. ~Dennis

I agree. The main market was here in the US so they should have provided us every options they had. About the stereo deck, I'm not sure about it since a lot of JDM owners don't have original and I can't get so much info. They say it's high power sound system, I don't know the spec or details. It's also hooked up with a 6 disc changer.

I don't know so much about Australian version... Does it have rear fog lights?
Anyone?

(digging up the dead here ).

This video (while entertaining and somewhat peaceful to watch) is supposed to be a promo? It almost comes across as a little depressing but maybe I'm just speaking on the aftermath?

The first song is so long I was wondering if it would ever change. I actually chuckled when he said "you really can't afford it, ohhh, you can't afford it!" and it (camera) swipes by the SVX a few times.... maybe I think too much but what an odd choice of a song even though I know that's not the meaning behind it and what the intentions are.... but if someone was to just catch that phrase as strongly as I did just now back when this video was introduced, it's almost like a subconscious mental alert that "even though you could buy this fantastic $28,000 car, you probably shouldn't and can't really afford it" .

Then.... it follows up with a oh so peaceful and dear god depressing song.... or so it seems. I mean... I never thought I could fail? No fight left or so it seems? Then it goes onto "don't give up, your not beaten yet." "It's so strange how things turns..." "We're proud of who you are.."-Subaru.

I'm not sure what the producer was thinking.... or whose decision it was to use this music or if it's even "official" Subaru promo video (anyone know?) but seeing this video today really makes me feel like they knew the car was such an oddball that it wouldn't do well... but they held their hopes high for a more positive outcome?....

I think the video and lyrics hold more value now than it did when it was originally produced (permitting it's an original and authentic Subaru-made promo) ... actually... either way... mainly to the passionate owners of the SVXs on this board. If anything I can truly say they (or whomever made it) got me to feel the emotional connection between man and car with this video... and maybe that was their intentions with it after all.

*Oh, and what exactly is different on the climate control from the U.S. version?

The "backwards wheels" theory still stands true. There is a L on the left wheels which indicates which wheel goes where. There are several cases where they have them backwards.

Kate Bush's "Don't Give Up" in the soundtrack!? That's downright bizarre.

"Don't Give Up" is actually a Peter Gabriel song from the 1986 "So" album. You are correct, that is Kate Bush, she sang on the album and it helped boost her career. It's a great album possibly his best.

I have it, and it's only so-so.
