Update on my new car

I really miss the SVX. The ride was nice and soft, and the seats were soooo comfy. But, with the change, I am really starting to come around on the Mazdaspeed Protege. I just ordered the FMIC, HKS SSQV blow off valve, intercooler piping kit, boost and air fuel ratio gauges. I am selling my snow tires soon and that will afford me a new set of rubber.

I will hopefully have pics up soon. I miss my SVX

The protege's wheelbase is shorter in length and width so the ride wont be as nice, I used to have a hyundai Elantra and man that thing was loud inside, and every crevice in the road was like driving into a ditch. Sounds like your having turbo fun thou. Loud blowoffs are so cool..everytime you shift its like pffwooosshhh.

If you miss your SVX why are you so excited about getting a blow off valve for your Mazda?! Did I miss something here?

I got my whole intercooler setup for about $300. As promised, here are the pictures of the car that is currently parked where the SVX should be.

The Police rolled by as I took the last two. I would have stayed longer put didn't want to be hassled for "blocking the street while taking pictures of the sexiest car they have pulled over tonight"

I always liked the Protege (after the Escortege era at least). When the inlaws were looking to trade their last car in I steered them toward it (as it was the last year for it before the 3) and the Kia/Hyundai products. They've been loyal Chrylser fans since they got rid of the T-100 in the 80s but had gotten stung with issues on the last couple. Wanted something cheap and reliable but resale value wasn't all that important as they always trade into the dealer for peanuts anyways.

Well they got the Protege. It has been nothing but problems for them. New steering rack, new cat convertor 2x now (guess the SVX isn't the only car that likes to have rattling convertors), radio stopped working, etc... I drove it to determine what the problem was the other day with a squeak around hard left turns (bad strut which seems to be lowering it enough that it rubs). I was amazed how cheap the thing felt. It seemed like it had 250k on the odo not the 25 that are showing. Seemed to make more creaks and rattles then your average Jeep.

Wish ya luck on yours as that wasn't a good recommendation by me I guess. I still like the way Mazda's look have since the 626 and MX6 came out in the late 80s but if they're all built like that now its a shame.

What's with the two red stripe things on the fender, is it some weird ricer gang? I've seen it quite a few times...

The stripe is for the group of cars that my friends and I are involved with. Not a crappy car club with meetings or anything, just kinda there.
