Thanks SilverSpear!

Hocrest, thanks, it's a '79 J20 HD, rides like the axles are bolted directly to the frame

Hey Napa,

In the last pic of your truck by the side of the pool, did the inside rear tire break away a piece of the wooden deck/platform?

Pool is done and looks awesome...now you have to finish the house!

My dad had a 76 J10 and I had a 86 J10 that we used for plowing snow. Those things were unstopable, but I know what you mean about the ride, I started using my seat belt when I found out that turning the wheel was difficult when I was floating around inside of the cab.

I hope to have the main part of the house done by the end of January so we can move in, turn the little sun room on the back into a temp kitchen and finnish the kitchen by the end of Febuary, and the back room should take another couple weeks since it is mostly paint.

My first car was an AWD 1979 Cherokee, I picked the J20 up for $450 early this year and use it as a ranch truck, also have an '83 Wagoneer ranch truck and another '83 for parts, too bad I don't have that many SVXes

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I just drove the Jeep down there to haul the wooden deck off so I didn't really care that I busted it

Damn, that's ambitious. I'm 6 years into my remodel and I'm nowhere near finished

Get off your butt and get to work! I was painting my basement until 3:30am last night. You just need the ultimate motivator. BEER!!!

Napa, what is that small outbuilding, a toilet?

We don't eff arround, and it dosn't hurt to have experience in construction

The little out bulding used to house a generator, when the house was built there was no electricity that far out, it was added on to a few decades ago, then the tennents "sorta finnished" the inside, so I'm going to make it "presentable" and finnish it next year when all the other projects are done, they didn't even tape the sheet rock joints, so it looks pretty sad inside with all the cracks

I find that the more beer I consume, the more work I have to redo the next day

Seriously though, I'm replacing everything except the exterior studs. New sheathing, siding, trim, windows, doors, roofs (including some rafters). On the inside, new electrical (including a new underground feed and breaker box), New plumbing and sewer from the street to the fixtures, new gas service and lines, new HVAC, moved all the interior walls, new insulation, new subfloor (along with about half the floor joists), turned it from a duplex into a single family, added a 12' addition to the back to make a family room, new basement under the addition, new radiant heated basement floor throughout, removed two chimneys from the roof down to the basement floor.

I think that's about it. There may be more, but I can't remember.

Right now I'm moving the laundry room to make room for a second staircase to the second floor. When that's done, I'll move the basement stairs and add a second set of stairs to the basement leading from the living room to the theater room so you don't have to go through the kitchen.

Seeing as how the city wouldn't let me build my own house, I built a new one from an existing structure

Doug

Lightweight!

Everthing I do around my own house is measured in beer time.

Basement tile floor (all 478 1x1 tiles)=3 cases o beer
1st floor bathroom= 5 cases
wiring, insulating and sheetrocking the basement 3 cases

Sounds like you're much further along than the last you spoke of it at reading 3 years ago. At least it is getting done right!
