Boycott Mobil/Exxon to lower gas prices.

Please vote in the poll, I think the boycott is worth a try to see we could have an effect on gas prices.

What poll???
Oh and this topic has been discussed before and a boycott will do nothing because not enough people would get involved for it to make any difference.

edit: (and yes, I did realize he was in the process of making a poll when I posted!)

This comes up evry year and every year the price still goes up. All it does anymore is annoy me and clog up my inbox with e-mail with request to boycott. The gas stations just laugh, because they know you'll be back and they'll get even more from you because while your boyotting the price is still rising. I say we all install 30000gal tanks under our houses and buy it now before the price can get any higher, then convert to hybrid drive systems to make it last longer.

How on earth do you protest that increasing demand for certain suppliers will lower the price of gas? Supply is not going to increase. If you want prices to go down, make efforts to minimize global usage (good luck with that one).

This boycott is a pipe-dream and will not work.

I always wonder if that boycott mail was devised by the marketing team of Mobil/Exxon's biggest rival.

Only one way to reduce gasoline costs...don't buy it. Lets see, now we have all these SUVs sucking up more petro and the price goes up...and more people in CA who won't use public transit if it is made availible, my dad is part of a commute club from Napa to San Francisco, they used to run 5 55 passanger coaches EVERY DAY to San Francisco, now they run 1 with only 30 people on it and it costs about 1/3 of driving cost, people will spend 3x or more to drive in their own car while complaining about gas prices and the lack of public transport.
