Significant Technical Input
'Learning computers' continue to 'learn' every moment they are in closed loop. They don't reach some magic point and quit learning. Resetting the memory only makes them run crappy for a few days until they re-learn those compensations. The main purpose for their adaptibility is to compensate for aging sensors, not poor fuel.

Due to the IAC being underneath the t-body the only proper way is to remove the assembly.
Exactly. I ended up having to take the whole things to bits to get rid of all the built up grime that I had foolishly sluiced in to it when I did the throttle body clean.

It opens and closes so slightly that almost any grime in there will muck things up. I recommend looking at this first if you are still having the idle problem.

Another little thought -
I don't know how cold it is in Ohio, but since you've done the Throttle bypass is it maybe too cold, or making ice?

Or something got in to the IAC when you did the bypass?

I cleaned my TB this past weekend. This time I used "Mercury Powertune". I also changed both knock sensors. This seemed to reduce if not eliminate the 5mt stall issue. The problem is I'm so used to compensating for this issue that I don't now if the problem is actually resolved.

Red face

i tried cleaning the iac today but i don't have the time to take the throttle body off so i sprayed it in the air feed line forit and genltly blew threw it but it didn't help.i'll have to take it off sometime soon. gas mileage seems to have improved slightly lately, it went 260 miles to three quarters of a tank. maybe you guys are right and my crappy gas gauge is just tricking me.it is running really good lately though and has good power. had it up to 125 again a few days ago with ease.
