Now I wouldn't call the dude a loser...but some drag racers like the extra tach on 5/6MT cars to easily watch for their shift points.

On an automatic car it's useless, but maybe he's added it for style!

May be he has found a way to wire each tach to monitor the right and left banks of the engine?

open your mind

We race NHRA cars with autos and tachs. There could be several reasons for somthing beyond a factory tach. Shift poiint lights for autos with manual shift valve bodies, tach memory/playback, etc. Keep an open mind. I would take it as a serious insult if someone poked fun at my car with an auto and a aftermarket tach (or I would look at the person and think to myself, whan an uninformed/educated individual).

Your NHRA cars probably have more than a flowmaster and some sparkplugs, right?

To me, it's insulting to see a (mostly) stock automatic car w/ a 5" tach.

Anyways, see any similarities?

Why would you care what someone thinks of your car?
