Enkei Shogun Wheels and Tires. Should I buy?

I need some advice. I've been looking for a set of Enkei Shogun rims to buy for the past several months and I've finally come upon a set of 17x7 Shoguns (with tires) that are for sale. However, the asking price is $650 (not including shipping). With shipping, I'm looking at around $800. Is this a good deal or am I getting the short end of the stick? I've included a picture of the wheels and tires. What do you think?

They're really bending you over on the shipping, but the overall price isn't too terrible if you like those wheels...

Shipping shouldn't be a penny over $80 for the set...I ship wheels and tires all the time.

Those are one of my favorite wheels, but one bad thing that should be mentioned is that they are no longer available, and if you mess one up, it can not be replaced. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but just thought it should be mentioned. Good luck.

Well, I'll be darned. I had no idea that shipping shouldn't cost more than $80. Do you go through the United States Parcel Service or FedEx or UPS? I was expecting a high shipping rate because each rim weighs about 24 pounds and each tire weighs about 10 pounds (I think) so I'm looking at about 140 pounds of weight.

Also, I didn't realize that if I messed up one wheel, than I would be S.O.L. However, Green1995SVX has had his Enkei Shogun wheels for over 2 years now and I don't think he's had any trouble.

If for some reason you didn't go through with the deal, you'd probably have several other people asking where you found them so they can try to get them. Ever since Mike (GreenSVX) has had those, tons of members have wanted them and been disappointed to find they are no longer available. It's kinda like having the last set of grey floormats or something.

As for them being out of production, I don't know that I'd worry too much, it seems to me that wheel manufacturers are constantly changing designs and making old styles unavailable, I think most people with aftermarket wheels has to deal with this. Just gotta take good care of them.

don't do it. I paid 300 for a set of ENKEI mag wheels, And you should be able to find them in many sizes. Tires won't be a problem either. they look good.
But it is your car and i can't tell you what you can and cannot do. Hope it works out well.

It all just depends on how you drive. Earl was just pointing out that it would be a pain if one of your wheels were to be become bent or damaged. I've damaged 2 of mine after 2 weeks of ownership of the new rims. that's $250 down the drain.

also if you're buying it off ebay and in atlanta, they maybe Greenmarine's enkei's that were stolen. just fyi.

If they have Falken Azenis ST115's (225/45/17) on them then they were mine that were stolen... Too bad that there is people like that out there in the world

GreenMarineSVX: Your Enkei Shogun rims and tires were stolen off of your car? That's terrible. BTW, the ones in the pic har 215/45/17 Visa tires.

They wern't stolen off the car... They were stolen from Subaru of Gwinnett in Atlanta.... I took them in to get them mounted and I didn't have the right lugnuts... So I left them there since I had to drive all the way back to Beaufort (4 hours)... Came back the following weekend and none knew where they were... Really sucks because I like 17" wheels more than I like 18's... But I really like the way my 18's look P)

I just purchased 4 ea. ICW Racing Inc. # D-8 white wheels & tires from SolarSVX (thanks Jim). He shipped them to me from Fla. Shipping was only about $50 via UPS. He packed them himself at work and, I might add, he did a very good job.

$150- seems very high for shipping. What is the weight and
where are those wheels/tires coming from?

Shipping can be that much, depends on where they are coming from. What city to what city ? If its tires and wheels, it can be almost $150.
What brand and size tires are they ? and what kind of car
did they come off of ?
