Wheel Bearings replacement cost?

Hi,
I just ordered the wheelbearing parts. Could anyone tell me
how much usually it costs to replace wheel bearings per
wheel? Is it cheaper to go to a Subaru dealer or find
some auto shop?

Thanks

-Tony

I recently had the right rear bearing replaced by my dealer (Earl Duff in Harriman, TN). The total cost came to a bit over $200, parts, labor and tax. I'd have to look back to see the exact breakdown. Whoever you get to do it, be sure that they clean the shipping grease out of the bearing, and repack it with a high quality bearing lubrication.

P.S. If you search the message base here for wheel bearings, you'll get a ton of information. This is one of the most frequently discussed topics, since it's one of the most common SVX failures.
