manual seat behavior...
I'm still figuring out my SVX which I bought only a few months ago, and I'm getting curious about how the front seats are supposed to work. Its an L model with manual seats.
1 -- For the passenger side seat, when the seat is released for a passenger to climb into the backseat, is the seat supposed to slide back on the rails to its original fore-aft position when the seat is pushed back? 2 -- Is the same true for the recline position? 3 -- Does the driver's side seat have the same behavior? Thanks,

My '92 has a power driver's seat and a manual passenger's seat. I don't imagine they'd change the manual mechanism from year to year, but I could be wrong.
The passenger's seat returns to both original positions (fore-aft and recline) after being moved up for rear-seat entry. Sorry, can't help with the driver's side, but my guess is it would be the same.

Once you release the passenger side seatback, using the lever, the seat back tilts forward and the whole seat then slides as far forward as possible.
The seat can be pushed back to the starting position as long as the seatback has not been tilted back. I push mine back by holding the seatback and when it stops I tilt the back to where it was. Does this make any sense.

follow up...
I pulled out both (manually operated) seats last night and inspected the mechanisms...
First, the driver's side seat has no mechanisms for returning the seat to its original recline or fore-aft location when the seat is moved forward for entry into the back seats. I'm guessing that this is because the manually operated seat is essentially a power seat with all the power equipment removed. Second, the passenger seat does have some hardware for returning the seat to a useful location after moving the seat forward for entry into the back seats. There appears to be no mechanism for returning the seat to its original recline position when the seat is released forward for entry into the back seats. Or if a mechanism exists, its broken or out adjustment on my seat. As for returing to a useful the fore-aft position after releasing the seat forward, the seat does not remember where it was last positioned, but it does have a system for returning itself to a specific fore-aft location which is at about the middle of the fore-aft adjustment range. When the seat is in proper working order, this feature only works when the seat has been tilted back prior to moving it backwards. If you have to keep the seat tilted forward to get the seat to move back after releasing it forward, then the mechanism needs adjustment. Its a fairly simple adjustment but requires removing the seat which is not hard to do.
