Question about trying to buy a rebuilt transmission

I was looking at this website for buying a rebuilt 4EAT, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not this one website is any good or not:

http://autotransparts.com/cart.php?m..._detail&p=1130

I'm assuming I would still have to get the ECUtune TCU and maybe the valve body service.

Re: Question about trying to buy a rebuilt transmission

I think you can buy an entire rebuilt transmission directly from ECUtune, in different levels of performance.

Re: Question about trying to buy a rebuilt transmission

i would make sure they made the proper modifications so it won't fail. if it's rebuilt to factory specs then it may only last as long as your original transmission.

Re: Question about trying to buy a rebuilt transmission

I'll double post this here.
I didn't mean to scare you off on a 4.44 swap. Check car-parts.com to see if there are any available in your area.

What to look for:
[96-97-& Early 98 Legacy Outback/Legacy GT/Legacy LSI/Forester/Impreza 2.5 RS with 4EAT automatic transmission, and 2.5 engine.
Get the transmission that DOES NOT HAVE the spin on transmission filter located on the drivers side, behind the bellhousing, above the left front corner of the transmission oil pan.
(The 4.44s are from any 2.5 4EAT equipped Legacy GT, Legacy Outback, Legacy LSI, Legacy GT LTD., Legacy Outback LTD., Impreza 2.5 RS, and Forester)] Don't forget to include the rear diff.
