2 defroster buttons??

Just the other day I was coming home in a terrential downpore and the windows began to fog up pretty thick, I've only have my svx for about 3 1/2 months now, but I noticed that there are two defroster buttons, one on the main console (where the vent and auto buttons are) and one right next to the hazard lights. What is the difference between these two buttons? Do the serve the same purpose?

The button on the main console controls the defrost for the front windshield. The other, operates the rear window defogger.

You have the one on the far right next to the A/C controls which is for the front. You have another small button below the "visor" next to the hazard lights that controls the back, then the third on the bottom left which controls the side mirrors (LS-L/LSi only?).
