Re: Key less entry
Don't feel bad, my power locks have not worked since I got my 92 either.
Apparently they are controlled by the factory alarm, which to my understanding is prone to being broken. To make things worse, I have only 1 key and it has this slight twist in it from previous owner trying to unlock a frozen lock with it, and it wont fit in the slot at the key cut station to cut a new one. So I just have to leave it unlocked all the time in fear I will snap my key trying to unlock it. :/ I have yet to find the power door lock module in my 92. I think one the previous owners put an aftermarket alarm it and then removed it when they sold the car. Last edited by Lookin4SVX; 05-09-2011 at 06:04 PM. |

Re: Key less entry
I put a remote starter in mine back in 1995. one of the 1st 50 foot range command units) I think that was the down fall to mine. mine use to lock in 45 sec. after closing the door, after the instal it never did it anymore. Some one on here said they used an after market unit.

Re: Key less entry
Hi everyone, Lookin4SVX. If you take your SVX to a Subaru dealer, the parts guy should have a "Key Cutter". He does not have to use your old key other than to get the key code from the old key. If your old key is a replacement key he can use your "VIN" number to cut you as many new keys as you want. The new key will not effect the security system. That is another system that was added at the port of entry in the USA. Take care, BOBB
