Rmoval of Trunk liner
I was detailing my car the other day and noticed my driver side tail/signal light lens was clouded with condensation. I also discovered a broken light socket & adhesive residue from a piece of tape which was used to hold it in place. (I can only assume that the shop which painted the car broke it as It wasn't like that the last time I changed the bulb.) As I fished around behind the liner I found the tape in a small pool of water close to the strut tower. The two drain hoses were not routed to their connectors to exit the wheel well.
I've also noticed an intermittent problem with my power seat belt. A search says the sensor is under the liner. Also my rear washer hasn't worked sine the car was painted. So. I obviously need to remove the trunk liner. I don't want to just grab & tear. Neither search or how to's have yielded anything. Could anyone give me step by step instructions on the correct way to remove & replace the trunk liner so I can sop up the water & diagnose the washer problem. Thanks Peter |

Re: Removal of Trunk liner
Got brave (for me) and decided to go at the liner. Discovered it was very simple. One hidden clip by the trunk opening just below the light access hatch. One hidden clip about 4 inches up right next to the pass through to the back seat. One plastic button to the shelf. Gentle prying was all that was required.
Found the kink in the hose for the washer & fixed that. Found no water in the wheel well. The tape I pulled out yesterday must have been blocking the drain hole. Couldn't locate the sensor for the seat belt. Can anyone help me there? |
