Power mode mod...where to get pin??

I'm doing the power mode mod in my car. I'm looking for a female pin that I can connect the wire to and then snap into the connector for a solid, clean connection - I don't want to just shove a wire in there and hope it holds.

Has anyone else done this? Where did you find a female pin that fits? Other than a donor harness, because I don't have that. I was thinking maybe I could buy something at Radio Shack that might work...?

Pretty sure everyone has just used a donor wire from one of the harnesses that isn't used. Do a search and they detail exactly what wire is not used for anything else I believe.

I put female connectors from Radio shack on the wire leading to the on off switches connectors, but I bent them at a 90 angle to make them shorter when they were on. The wire to the TCU I just pushed in with out any special connector.

I think a socket pulled from a pc motherboard header plug is close. I used one from a connector from motherboard sound card to cd drive.

You can get replacement pins with a short wire pigtail on them from Subaru, every dealer should have a termininal/wiring harness repair kit they can sell you a pin out of. (If I can figure out what pin it uses, I can order a 10-pack through SPX, heck I could probably make a kit for people who aren't as mechanically/electrically inclined as the rest of us...)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions...I ended up using a pin out of a wiring harness from a burned out PC power supply. It was one of the pins on the little square 4-prong connector for P4 motherboards.

Fit nice and snug, and works great Now I just have to figure out my dash illumination issues at the switch, and I'm done...
