My Engine finally died.
Well guys the engine in my car just went to SV heaven , it lasted for 470,000 kilometer. It was still drivable and running just started to use a lot of oil and blow oil back into the intake. The other thing that was real strange was that the crank shaft had so much free play the harmonic balancer was hitting the front time belt cover. We noticed this first at 400k and now its just worse. All up untill I fill the engine with dust about 3 weeks ago it never used oil between oil changes. Here is a photo of one SVX engine that would have to have had the hardest life possable.

Re: My Engine finally died.
I am extremely happy to be the first to give it a blessing. Keep a piece of it in memory and as a trophy.

Re: My Engine finally died.
Nonsense! You must keep it all. It is now perfectly seasoned and ready to begin life as a racing engine....

Re: My Engine finally died.
Should keep that engine as a trophy for making it last in that kind of extreme running you did in it. I remember that post when you got stuck out in the desert Fun times huh?

Re: My Engine finally died.
I have seen an engine all flashed up and given a place under a glass table top, in a home bar setting. The flat SVX could make a great wine rack for a half dozen, but the poor thing would be headless.

Re: My Engine finally died.
Hi Tony
I've been away for a few days so missed this momentous passing of a great engine. Like the guys say, you must keep it either for spares or for just a keepsake. It has been a good and loyal servant. Joe
