Cool steering u-joint problem

I have a 1994 svx with 139K on it. The u joint that is part of the steering column is bad. I posted the problem previously and had it recommended to clean the part and grease it which did temporarily fix it. But the problem is here to stay until I replace it apparantly. Since the dealer only sells the entire column for about $750, I am hoping to find a source for the u-joint itself. Does anyone know if they can be rebuilt anywhere or if there is a source for new replacements??? Thanks for your help.

I use a local company that replaces, builds, makes all sorts of drive train and steering parts. I bet you could find something that in your area. They are usually cheap. I had 4 u-joints replaced on another car with spicer hd ones for $85 just to give you an idea of how much cheaper something like can be compared to just buying new parts. You may have some luck this way.

If you can't find something in the yellow pages, just call some auto repair shops and ask them if they know of any such places.

you can get it.. I have a brand new one sitting on the shelf. But the problem is they cost a bunch of $$ like $275 or so.
