advice on over heating

the water pump leaked and the car over heated for two minutes, i immediately turn the engine off. It happened 4 times (always turning the engine off before it started to overheat) before i could bring it for repair.
The engine is perfect, my question is:
are the gaskets going to break soon?
thanks

Hard to say. Best to replace the pump, etc and go from there.

Drive it like it is. If something happens deal with it then.

How is it running now? When they changed your water pump, did they flush your radiator and change your thermostat as well?

How is your AC working? I know Miami is getting hotter.

I would see if the fans are kicking on while running that could be a cause. ALso the thermostat, but that should of been changed with the waterpump i would imagine. Is the radiator or condensor clogged or plugged? What color is the fluid? Just some suggestions to give ya

thanks spin for the imput

I don't have a heating problem. I just want to get some input from experts like you. the engine is running perfect. i'm just concerned of the long term consequences. i spoke to two mechanics and told me as long as the gaskets didn't blow on the spot the engine is fine. but wanted to double check on svx mb... thanks

From what you have posted, it would appear that the engine did not overheat to the point whereby, there was a different level of expansion/contraction between heads and block, as would be required to cause the gaskets to be damaged.

All things considered, you handled the problem effectively and you should relax and enjoy !
