As was already explained, my SVX gets stored during the winter. Actually, it's been stored most of this year. If I put a thousand miles on it this year, I'd be surprised. I've put only about 10k on it in the past four years. Usually my wife and I use it as the road trip car in the summer, but we're doing even that less and less - especially with the gas prices this summer.

My short commute makes it pretty easy for me, psychologically, to leave the SVX at home. Sure it's more comfortable to ride in than the MR2, but I live one mile from work. It's hard to justify even getting it out of the garage for such a short trip.

By next year I'll have you beat! Sitting pretty at 4200 in the past 3 year. I'm quite happy though that I got snows for the XT this year otherwise I'd have to drive a crappy legacy. As for the money involved if you wreck... Ummm... Most newer cars are still being paid for so they'll have full coverage and IMO if you don't have gap insurance on at the very least the depriciation monsters (vw, mitsu, the koreans and americans) your taking a huge risk driving it any day. I know I'd be out more if I totalled my xt then if I totalled the legacy.

Well, I've driven it less and less each year. I probably put on about 5-6k the first year and less every year since.

Sissies.

I've been driving around the company van in the snow, and even got it stuck (in a trailer lot) and unstuck by myself.

It's only rwd.

The glass is a little spendy if you take a few rocks in it as well.
