Unhappy All was well until....

Ok, here it goes:

My parking space at work is on the fourth underground floor, so each time i have to enter and exit, I will have to go in a spiral route until I get to my spot.
Today when leaving work, i was going that spiral route (upwards to the left) until I took the extreme inside corner which made my car lean to the right and the very low spot in my rear bumper hit the horizontal metal shapes ^
on the floor. what I heard was a "crack" and then a chhhhhhhhhhhh. What i feared the most... just happened!! and to the extreme... I was like , this is a pic of the thing:

as you can see, the red arrow represents the place where the ^ metal thing caught the lower end. the black line on the lower part of the bumper is the crack and the blue lines represent the direction of the bumper. the bumper just felt like going on a walk just from one side and it didn't break!! just the black line crack on it's bottom end!
So I pushed it into place, rebolted it and went home.

You think this is the end?

On my way home, I felt the steering wheel getting heavier. I knew I am having a flat tyre (FR). Knowing I have no pump in my car i thought i would stop at a local gas station (which i will reach in a 4 mins slow drive)... until for the second time this week I fell in a 1" road hole (not so deep.. but having 90* edges... ) and at 30 mph. Of course the flat tyre was caught in that hole. After that I felt my whole car alignment dramatically changed. Arrived at that station, filling the tyre.. and driving.

Suspension balance F*** up, none whatsoever, even at 40mph... I concluded I have a bent flange.

Tomorrow is gonna be a busy day...

Come on David, this is serious. I don't care about Fiberglass, I can always fix it. I am worried about my suspension, it never got bad like this. I need to go to a real professional tomorrow...

Just go get an alignment. Have them look for any bent parts.

Ok guys, let me tell you something, even if it is off-topic. You see that it is impossible and maybe I am nuts stating that an engine or a tranny swap might cost from 50-100$ as labor, but believe me it is true. I wish there were other members from my country in this forum who confirm that.

We are struggling with 60 billion dollars debt over here, wages are low and most people do not afford to pay big bucks to fix their cars. So that opened the road towards competition which drove prices waaaaay down, and in consequence, Labor.

When our Billionaire Ex prime minister was killed this past February, our economy got worse, all businesses froze and a lot went bankrupt. Manual labor businesses were the first and most to be affected from that thing. Some were even content just to reach a $15 average per day just to be able to purchase food.

I know nobody will believe me, but this is a fact. I do not want to lie about it... If you do not believe me, I can pretent I am paying $200 for example for labor just to make you feel better...

Ok give me an idea, how can I prove it to you?

Yikes! I absolutely hate negotiating tight spiral ramps in parking garages with the SVX. I don't know how some folks do it with their larger cars. I've posted before how I almost always first explore a garage with our little Justy or even by foot before daring to go in with the SVX. In Tübingen I never did find any garage that I felt comfortable going into with the SVX - would always park at the train station outside lot (which was right downtown, so location was good anyway)

Good thing repair costs are so cheap where you are - that sort of repair would probably cost big bucks here in Germany!

Good luck with the fix. Maybe you might have to change your rims.

The flange was bent, I fixed it but still felling some vibration at 70mph. I will be balancing the front rim if it is not too damaged (it looks ok to me). If the problem persists I will be changing both the flange and the rim. (even if I will be paying top $ for a new flange)

Check out the latest Top Gear episode. The 3 hosts attempt to drive a Zonda, Ford GT and Ferrari F430 through France and they also had a little problem with a parking garage!
