Need Radio harness pinouts.

To all with the Electrical Manual:

I need the pinouts for the stock radio. I am trying to add my hands free cell phone into the stereo system.

There appears to be a connection for a phone into the radio, but I need to be sure I'm understanding it right.

According to the printing on the circut board on the back of the radio, here is what the pins are labeled as:

1 Rear Right +
2 Rear Left +
3 NC
4 Illumination +
5 Battery
6 Acc (ignition Power)
7 NC
8 Front Right +
9 Front Left +
10 Rear Right -
11 Rear Left -
12 Illumination -
13 Unlabeled
14 Cancel (I think for phone)
15 Mute (I think for phone)
16 REMOCON (I think for phone)
17 Ground
18 Power Ant.
19 Front Right -
20 Front Left -

I'm thinking that 13, 14, 15, and 16 may be for a phone input...

If I can see what Subaru labels the harness as, I should be able to figure it out.

Thanks in advance

Doug

Well,

It confirms my findings on the panel for some pins, but it doesn't list anything on 13-16.

Thanks anyway.

Significant Technical Input
Check my locker for what I have.

#13 is cd illumination. As you can see I'm no better off than you are, but these are not from the actual factory manual...

R74 in trunk is phone connector, I would assume if the wire colors matched nos. 14, 15 & 16 you'd have a winner. Some long leads on a VOM (or buzzer, etc.) would verify.

Thanks for the #13.

I think Last time I checked, R74 has a 3 pin connector. I think it isconnected to the fuse box to Batt, Ignition, Gnd. Although it has been a few years since I looked at it.

I don't think that Subaru meant to wire a hands free into the SVX, but Panasonic may have used the guts of this stereo for other vehicles that did have built in hands free. If nothing else, it most likely has a mute input that lowers the stereos volume when it gets a +12V from the phone.

I don't have my dash apart to see the wire colors, I have another SVX radio from someone else that I'm borrowing for this investigation. I'm trying to gather every bit of info available before I tear into the dash.

Tearing into the dash is not a big problem. I just did today. I replace the panasonic CD player I had with the stock today. Let me see what I can pull up for you.

You shouldn't have to tear into the dash to get at the radio harness and connector.
