Cool Autofest - on deck.

Don't forget to bring comfortable lawn/beach chairs and prepare to relax a bit. Also, if your bringing your wife, they might want to get together and shop some. (You're going to spend the whole weekend looking at cars ?)

I'm getting pretty antsy. Have to take the Camry to Peoria this weekend. Not enough room for three (and stuff) in the SVX.

Wax on, wax off.

Steve

Steve,
I've reserved a room at the Executive (Bill, did you get my note). If the wives get too tired of waiting, they can go there to rest (trying to present an alternative to shopping ). I believe Nick (mr. pockets) will be there too.

I'm looking forward to it.

Randy

Just got off the phone with the Executive Inn. See you guys in a couple of weeks. We'll try to time leaving Oak Ridge to get to Evansville about 5:00 or so.

SUPER! One big happy family! Except for our host, of course, who'll be going home for the evenings -- golly.

BTW, Bill and Nick -- do youse guyz like Greek Food? I plan on taking Shari out for dinner at a nice Greek Restaurant for her Birthday on Saturday evening -- Steve and Sharon Wasion are joining us, since it's Sharon's Birthday on Monday.

Fire up that bouzouki band!

Oh, yeah, I haven't had any decent Greek food in quite some time. Well, except maybe for Retsina!

I don't know that I've ever eaten Greek food. I'm generally pretty picky, but I will try most things. I find that from every culture there's at least one 'beginner' dish that I can fill myself on.

I'm sure, that between Randy and me, we can point out some things you might like. If not, I'm sure we'll be glad to take care of the leftovers.

BTW, I'm really looking forward to meeting you.

Thanks, that's sweet. I always look forward to SVX meets, and I really hope I can plan another one sometime in the future. I'm still thinking a Subaru day at Road America would be cool.

Moussaka is a pretty standard "beginner dish" -- kinda like Greek Lasagna, only with eggplant, instead of meat. If nothing else, perhaps a Souvlaki (a "Greek Hamburger, as it's called -- although, it's more like Shish Kabab) or Gyros are safe bets (with Tsatziki sauce, of course). But, plan on Baklava for desert -- there's nothing like it.

The Greeks have a lot of Lamb dishes which are excellent, and usually, I like Dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves) as an appetizer.

Perhaps some "homework" is in order before your visit, so, you can decide whether to join us, or head for Burger King.

There are also some very nice chicken preparations.

Or tiropitakis (sp?) as an appetizer. Of course, a nice salad with feta, capers and olives. Abbie is not overly fond of Baklava, although I love it. She's not fond of the texture of phylo pastry. Ever had lemon-rosemary cookies? Sort a Christmastime thing - we try to make some every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Oh, my, I'm starting to drool.

I'll have to tell you about the Athens Bar & Grill in Houston. I have some neat stories about that place.
