Joe I second what you have said. Some of what is being posted is very, very sad. The intellectual content of posts is depreciating with the value of the SVX as has been mentioned by others, sad , sad, sad.

Ah you must read carefully young man . I was referring to it being mean to an SVX . As I did it in my daily driver that is worth about what I have in my pocket that's a completely different story. It only caused a little frame damage. There is absolutely no way that anyone should have done what he did. Had I not been paying attention and come out normally he would've smashed right into my drivers door so in reality I got lucky. I'm sure his bumper would've been just about the height of my window. I'm just still irritated that with all the talk of safey they still allow such vehicles on the road. A freaking H2 would drive right up an SVX in an accident then roll over like the dog it is.

I checked blue book value online the other day, the value of my car has actually gone up $300 since I purchased it last year, even with the 8k that I have put on it factored in. On Edmunds however, the value is at a steady $3000, but what do they know? I am not going to coment on the intellectual content because the way I see it this board is just friendly conversation where you can go for help (be it SVX related or not). We're not trying to write a novel, we're just trying to have fun and make a few friends.

grrrr, tailgaters.....grrrrr

yesterday, i am driving down the street in my new truck, doing 5 over the speed limit and this POS kia sportage decides that he would like to be a hemorriod today. he was so close to me that i couldn't see his head lights. so i went back down to the speed limit...so he decided that he would like to sit in my back seat, so by this point i am really pissed. so then he tries to pass me in a no passing zone, and i just laughed at him as he had to quickly jump back behing me because of oncoming traffic...then i had to make a left and i made sure to take up enough of the road that he couldn't pass until i decided to make my turn. lol...i waiting until it was REALLY safe to pass. as he passed by me, he screamed out the window..."YOU F^)K!NG @$$H0L3" giving me the middle finger, by this point i was laughing so hard i had to pull over...

some people

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Interesting story

My mom had a 2000 Explorer for about 2 weeks. Why have it for two weeks? Well our Ford Windstar broke down in Vermont and we needed to get home with all of our luggage. There was a recall on the van so there was this promotion that you would get $5k over trade-in if you bought a new ford. We actually had to take a 15 passenger van home, then go back a week later to pick up the Explorer because the one we wanted had not been through its delivery inspection (or something like that). My impressions of the Explorer-not as bad as I thought it would be, but I wouldn't buy one. Look out though Kelli, the blowouts were not 100% because of the tires, it was more like 75% tires and 25% bad design.

I don't see how any design flaw can blow a tire unless you sell and 12 passenger van with 4ply tires on it. I still wouldn't get an Exploder thoe, sorry Kell I know your a Ford girl but you would have been better of with a 67 Bronco. Tell me it at least has the regular 4.0L and not the SOHC motor.

Trading one bad tranny for another? I hope not.

Watch the tranny on the Exploder too! If that overdrive light starts flashing....it's all over.....and it is just a matter of time. It WILL start flashing.

Dang! How'd you get a deal like that? I don't mind my coworker's '99 or '00... kinda nice. I just don't really like Fords... or SUV's.

I think the biggest problem with the tire blow-outs were that Ford recommended over-inflating the tires. Now that was just STUPID! I have Bridgestones... most bad-arse tires I've ever seen! So, I still have confidence in the tire company.
