Quick Question:
I didn't have time to really look under the car today, but I do want to round up some fittings, etc. for a tranny cooler. Since quite a few of you have installed your own coolers I was wondering if anyone remembers what size line/fittings are used?

Yup. Some genius thought that 'liquid-filled' rubber isolators were the hot ticket. Control arm bushings, engine mounts, even the soles in your orthopaedic wedgies have gel filled portions. The theory is fine, they do absorb more shock and vibration but they aren't quite stable or long-lived. The innards are like uncured synthetic rubber and in some applications it starts to break down and leak. Of course I'm not an engineer, this is just what it appears as to me. I do know that I end up replacing a lot of these filled mounts on various cars. I don't know why the OEMs think they're worth such ridiculous amounts of money. Probably because they can get away with it. Unless I can see some bad consequences arising from their leakage I'll keep my $400 in my pocket.
