Welcome to our SVX family, Lenny. I'm in northern Delaware. There are quite a few members in MD. Hope you get your SVX soon.

Re: Every member please check in here!

Larry, Earl, I already connected with John Hoffman, John Luciano and several other people. My web is growing :-) All of them have been amazingly welcoming. Looking forward to becoming part of the family.

Just two weeks ago, before I found out about this community, I thought SVXs were doomed. I assumed they are as unloved and neglected as craigslist prices would lead one to believe. Lo and behold, I find this place, where you have people HOARDING them :-) And not just hoarding, but taking care and even restoring them. That just made my day because it's such a unique car. There are people out there who say it's ugly, but I don't understand how anyone can think that about one of the most beautiful car designs EVER. That badonkadonk, those box flares, that wedge... :-)

Re: Every member please check in here!

Hello, Let me introduce myself. My name is Gary and I'm a retired senior living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I'm the original owner of a pearl white 92 SVX LS-L now with 120,000 Km on it. It was the first SVX on the road in Calgary in 1992 and I think it's the only SVX currently on the road in Calgary.

It's developed an engine knock that I hope is just a stuck lifter. I'll record the knock from different locations and upload in the technical forum section. Hopefully someone can comment on what it sounds like based on their experience.

Regards,
Gary

Thanks Earl. Are there any restrictions/limits for uploading videos that I should be aware of?

Hi Gary,
Welcome to the site! Let's get together sometime this fall, I would love to see your Pearlie!
Also, I correct your assumption that yours is the only one on the road in Calgary.
Mine occasionally has a lifter tapping as well...
Send me a PM... I'm in Mapleridge.
Regards, Owen

Re: Every member please check in here!

I am still around. Own 2 drivers and 2 parts. Still have a motor with only 2792miles on it. Actually still in wrecked car. Entire drive train only has that many miles. Wish someone near needed a rust free body--LS not LSL so no moonroof.

Recent picture of my favorite. Not really an Alcyone other than hood ornament and taillight bar.

Re: Every member please check in here!

In your signature you have a '92 pearl listed as a parts car. I am looking for some parts If you are interested in selling a non-leaking a/c condenser, hood struts that actually hold the hood up, and a driver's side gray sun visor that stays up please post a reply. Thanks

Re: Every member please check in here!

Good morning everyone. I almost never write. I read (lurk) occasionally. I am a fortunate man in many ways. One of which is owning three. A 94 Laguna LSI (mine), a 92 Silver LS (hers) and a 92 Silver LSI (our son's, a wreck we hope to rehabilitate, -not our son, the car). The 94 is quirky. Starts, runs fine but won't re-start if left for about 45 minutes. If I attempt a re-start immediately or within about 30 minutes, no problem. Past that threshold no start until much later - about an hour plus. Our son's diagnosis based on reading the codes is a failed crankshaft position sensor even though it doesn't show any of the typical symptoms I've read. It's a discontinued part. I would love to locate one or another answer to this problem.
Happy Thanksgiving in these, our most interesting times.

K.

Hi Kevin. Suggest you duplicate this post in the Tech Q&A thread. Your question may not get any answers in this one.

Sorry, I don't get here very often. I also apologize for my misleading signature line about parts cars. The one ultra low mileage parts car is actually only for "private stock" I have no plans to sell parts from it. Only use for myself. So far all I have used is the right rear strut and wheel assembly.

The other parts car- 92 Pearlie is essentially only a body and interior. It is the LS model with no sunroof. It is a good solid RUST FREE body that I would give to anyone that wanted to come it up. the front left fender is missing and the right is slightly dented but very repairable. Hood has damage but also repairable. The sun visors are not the same as the LSI. Will even have to check to see if those are still intact. I just did not pay attention to them as my cars are LSI.

Don't they still sell ac condensers? I was actually under the impression they were common to some other Subarus. Some years back I actually purchased a new 134 condenser and a rebuilt AC compressor and still have on shelf. Oh, come to think of it I never disconnected the ac compressor AC system. It still had freon in it as when I parked it for good, many years ago. I took the engine out to put in another car but did not need the ac components.
