RPM question

My car was converted from FWD to AWD using a 1998 Legacy automatic. It never revs part 4400-4500 RPM, before upshifting. Is this likely the nature of the 4EAT, or should I look at something engine related. Engine starts, and runs fine. Have not tried shifting manually yet. This car sat for 3-4 years . Thanks

Sounds about normal to me. I had a '92 with a Legacy Outback 4:44 but I don't remember the shift points.
