Exhaust question

Hi,
My car has the Stebro muffler which sounds great. I was wondering if replacing the resonator with a straight pipe would give the car even more "attack-dog-snarl." The flat six sounds absolutely beautiful and I was hoping deleting the resonator may do the trick to letting more of it out.

Any thoughts?

Mac

Rolling the windows down helps too, but damn has it been cold here.

Re: Exhaust question

It does change the sound of the exhaust. Some people think it sounds too "raspy" and others like it better. Your best bet is to maybe hear one without it first and then make your decision.

Re: Exhaust question

I wouldn't reccomend it. at higher rpm's it might sound meaner, but right around 2700 rpm it'll sound like a bag of....not happy noise.
next drive you go on have a look at how often your at that rpm

Re: Exhaust question

From what I understand, you'll lose performance but may gain sound. If your one for "all show, no go" then go forward with it. Otherwise, keep the gap where it should be or put something else in it's place.

Re: Exhaust question

the powerstick does look interesting...I'll give them a call. My main interest is to bring out the sound, but not bad sound. I'm not necessarily looking for more HP with this endeavor but I don't want to sacrifice any either. Gas velocity and scavenging is such a science.

Re: Exhaust question

The 26" is actually a much better option than a standard gp/resonator. We use them on our LL0 engines all the time and they sound good.

The overall length of the 26" is 31", it should give you great sound. I will post up a vid next week of mine.

Re: Exhaust question

I spoke with the guy about the powersticks today and he said that they are about $50 each and only weigh about 7 lbs. Sounds good so far. Look forward to seeing the video.

Thanks.
