Wow, bash the SVX why don't you!

Anyone wanting to get mad at idiots, read this nice little (although old) article. Sorry if it's been seen before!

the Tribeca

I drove a Tribeca the day the first one got to the dealers and my big complaint was not enough power. That was an understatement. However, the the 08's have improved power. I am still holding out for the B-11
(Our SVX's really spoil us, don't they?)

The article is actually not too far from the mark, imho.

IMHO, the newly restyled (dumbed down) Tribeca makes the B9 look good. I'm sure the new engine and transmission are improvements but the look doesn't do a thing for me. Generic Hyundai. But thank God it doesn't offend anyone, right?
The comments about the SVX are pretty predictable.

My son is is a journalist and is test driving the 08 Tribeca right now.
He is very impressed with what they have done since 05.
Plenty of real power and excellent design of interior controls. (ergonomics)
I've driven it about 200 miles myself and I have to agree with him.

He absolutely loves my SVX also.
He puts it in the 'exotic' class of cars

While the words seem harsh, I agree that it isn't too far from the truth. But to me, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. I love my SVX. I hate owning cars that everyone and their cousin has.

+1

If your into Japanese sports cars (this chart works for domestics too), the market is segmented in such a way that your standard options are all the same, which means everyone ends up driving the same cars, trying to make theirs 'stand out'. Part of the reason I truly enjoy driving something that isnt a dime a dozen.

if you have money

Toyota Nissan Mitsubishi Subaru Honda Mazda

Supra 350Z Evo STi NSX RX7/8

If you don't have quite as much money

MR2 300ZX 3000GT WRX S2000 MX-5

And if your poor...

Celica 240SX DSM 2.5RS Prelude/Si MX-3/6
