Hi, I've only been on for a few weeks. I've always been into Subarus and I purchased a 1992 pearl white SVX in April. My 9th Subaru but first SVX. Right after I bought it it started making noise and it's been an incredible nightmare. I want to push the damn thing off a cliff. Aside from the broken JDM transmission in US car pain in the a$$, it's a great car. I just hate having to put so much money and agony into something that's 15 years old. The irony is; I bought this car as a second car so my wife could have the Outback during the day while I was working a temporary job 40 miles away. Well, the temporary job is almost over and the thing is still broken. grrrr....

Sorry for the negative post...

On a more positive note my wife, baby, and I will be going to Hawaii soon for about 6 weeks where I'll take care of the baby and study for the GRE while my wife works. Then we're going to New Zealand for 3 weeks. Then maybe Italy for a while.

-Jim

Sorry for the bad luck. Once you get the "kinks" worked out, you'll never want to drive anything else. Of course, sometimes that can take a while.....

After all, it IS a 15 year old car.

Hope you don't give up on her.

Well Supercars need a little extra effort. And can be unpredictable
I once owned a mid 80's Lotus Esprit Turbo. Had only 30,000 km on it and I'd replaced most of the suspension parts and many many other bits and pieces. Spent much, much $$$ by then. But I loved driving that car!!!

btw ... the SVX is one of the most 'comfortable and fun' 15 year old supercars you will ever drive. IMHO

Noob checking in, bought my first SVX (finally) about 3 weeks ago, 1992 LS-L Ebony 263,980 km runs strong, have the complete history of the car, about the only detail missing was the date and times the vehicle was washed!

This is my 6th subaru, it wasn't intended to be my daily driver but its turning out to be oh so irisistable..........

Just curious how many out there have passed the 300,000 km / 186,000 m mark ??

Hi All, I'm a new member here, been lurking awhile reading the forums. I'm not a noob to Subies so I know what the switch on the column is *grins*
I've never even sat in an SVX, but I've owned 2 XT's. I like the Alcyones for thier inherent oddity.
In the next few weeks I'll be coming into some cash. I'm looking to buy an Alcyone. I'm torn between the XT6's & SVXi. For the most part I'm a low budget individual. So it's up to you guys to convince me that the SVX is better than an XT6 & why

Howdy Paul.....fancy meeting you here

I couldn't decide between the two either.....so my answer....get one of each!!!!

You'll have to give me a call one evening if you want to talk some on the pros and cons of both....wish I'd have had more time to talk with you at the Dragon....

Subarus are like that in general. They tend to multiply, faster than bunnies!

Huck, thanks for the welcome. I wish I'd had more time myself.

Wiley Ford W.Va huh...how many is a few? Are they CHEAP? Spill it Subi-Crosser!

The FIRST SVX I ever sat in was Tom's, ( SVXFILES) supercharged car!

The next thing I knew, he handed me the keys at the airport and told me to " DRIVE it REALLY fast!").

The car I ran before that happened was my 85 XT. I had fun, but beat NO Corvettes! Since then, there has always been a few Corvettes listed behind me on the 'results'.

We have set our 'mark' at the black primer, 'Farm Use', 61 Corvette. In june, we got within 4 seconds! He runs SM2, and we run SM. ( He only has 2 seats).
