Drove a JDM yesterday. Thoughts...

Not i feel disappointment about my US SVX..
JDM handling is much better than my SVX. It responds as soon as you start to turn the steering wheel, very clear and firm. Of course it has 4WS, but i think it starts to operate when you get a 20 degrees or more turn.
Whats the difference? I think its not a power steering pump and not a 4WS, maybe steering rack? JDM has 1,1 steering wheel turn to the left edge and 1,3 to the right. My SVX has 1,5 to the left and 1,6 to the right, so maybe it needs a long time to operate? Any thoughts?

And JDM seems faster than my from idle to 3000rpm, i think it has no EGR and another ECU (and 240HP vs 230HP on US)

Well Gleb you have experienced the difference between, the 3.7:1 VTD car, and the 3.5:1 4ACT car.
The VTD trans alters its torque split as it turns a corner. More torque moves to the front wheels, so that the rear wheels push the car forwards, and the front wheels pull the front around the corner.

Mountain 'switch backs' are where it excels.

Harvey.

Also, the 4ws models have a different ratio in the steering gear, so it will turn quicker/with less turns.

Probably just having something custom made. The 4ws cars are few and far between so even just getting ahold of the front rack is hard enough. Even beside the fact that anyone selling those parts would probably want to sell the whole 4ws system as a whole.
