Re: Built motor with ECUTune Stage 3 supercharger

*grr.* Wish I could. But the $$ went into my 4.11 5-mt, clutch, flywheel, short shifter, sticky tires and nuts and bolts. Good gawds id love to get a hold of that engine, but my auto is toast as of the new engine I swapped in.

Good lord.
I am totally intrigued by this.
I have a totally stock svx.
What EXACTLY would I have TO DO to get this motor in my car and actually function?
I do not want a 4000 paperweight that I have no idea what to do with.

You will need a better transmission! The 4EAT can't handle anywhere near that much power...

At least, not the way I drive

Re: Built motor with ECUTune Stage 3 supercharger

The temptation to do nasty things with the engine truly warrants a six speed transaxle. Things like this...

Similar, but not the engine advertised here; that's the Shadow Machine "only" on stock internals, 9psi, and without meth. The setup in this thread should punch a hole in the universe.

...or a hole in a lesser transaxle.

Dang, I used to own an SVX that laid rubber....

4.44, SVX torque converter, transmission cooler, synthetic fluid,
they can handle more horsepower than you think.
Built 4EATs handle 800 horsepower.
Axles, R160s, not so much.

A six speed is the best transmission for a supercharged 3.3, but hey,
if you want to get your feet wet,
install it,
drive it,
(clean the drivers seat,)
and replace the melted 4EAT when it goes boom!

I have a 4.44 with svx torque converter.
I am thinking how to make it actually run.

If you really want to do it, I am capable of swapping the engine. Just gotta set aside some time in advance. I have a cherry picker (as you saw) and basically all the other tools and know-how needed. The problem is I don't have space right now. In the next couple of months hopefully I'll be moving to a place with some garage space though...

The main question that needs answered is whether it will run with the stock TCU, and the Hydra ECU paired together. If it can, then it's quite doable.

I thought you had a modified 4EAT in your supercharged car. Am I remembering that wrong?

Let's not mix up stock ECUs and Hydras, nor centrifugals and twin-screws. So many different animals, the zoo looks dull!
