The R1 place seems best.

Again, I'd overhaul the entire brake system.

Stainless steel lines, calipers, slotted rotors, ceramic brakes (Axxis), etc.

R1 is where I'm getting my new brakes.
I read recently that ceramic pads only work well after they heat up.
Is this true?

Mine work every time I step on the brakes. Even while I'm about to drive into the ass end of someone cause I'm messing with the radio.

Not really.

They work about as well as stock for the first one or two stops. Once they warm up a little they are great and the hotter they get, the better they stop.

Just allow a little bit more braking room for those first couple of stops; you won't have a problem. My the time I leave my house and get to a major road, things are fine.

I use the Raceconcepts dimpled/ slotted rotors, Akebono Pro-ACT ceramic pads all around, Goodridge S/S lines and ATE Racing Blue fluid. Never a problem.

The ceramic pads are quiet and no brake dust!

Where can the raceconcepts rotors be found? My set of OEM Brembo rotors are already warped in the front after 3 months. :P

Actually, the dust is white thus not as noticeable. Also because of their better bite they eat the rotors faster. I have ceramics on my non-svx & like them.

I am not 100% sure but I read that the 92 front rotors are .1 inch larger then the later years, Since they should fit all years I would buy the 92 for that reason.
With the heavy car larger rotors would be better for the reason listed, heat dissipation.
Would tend not to warp I would think.

i put my old stock rotors in the rotor pile and when going back to measure them i ended up having 4 front rotors. turns out they are the exact same size as ones I took off of a friends newer turbo outback. it may be cheaper and easier to buy parts for a newer more popular car given they are the same size (even the discard thickness was the same)
