Thank you Vets!!

.

When I see a man or woman in 'uniform'., I ALWAYS say 'Thank you!'.
I was at a local gas station the other nite. 4 Men wearing Army uniforms walked in.
I said, "Gentlemen, THANK you!!". 4 Men said, "You are welcome".

My car has POW MIA ribbon on the back and the same flag on the antenna. (They match the hat that I wear)

No, I did not 'serve'. BUT, I have NEVER spoken a single word against anyone that has!

I have a really DEEP respect for all of our 'Vets'!! I don't care if they went to war or not! They were there! READY to go to war if there there was one!

Another story that 'changed my LIFE'!

I was watching a parade.
I was standing next to a guy in a baseball cap.
I was seeing the back of his head from where I was standing.

A Nationally Known band was marching up the street and the 'Major' SAW the man in the baseball cap standing at 'Attention', saluting the Flag.

The parade STOPPED! The Major announced that "This Is for YOU!!
Pointed to the man.

The band turned towards the Man in the baseball cap and played 'Anchors Away'!

The Man stood at attention during the whole song, saluting the Flag.

This happened decades ago. I have not seen anything like it since.

I will NOT 'miss' a chance to HONOR these people again!

TELL them that you are GRATEFUL for what they do/have done.

Hey, It's onlly our FREEDOM that is at stake!

WE need these people! Do not be afraid to 'Thank' them

Re: Thank you Vets!!

You are welcome sir. I agree, it really does make a difference.

My story:

I was at my church a number of years ago and they honor vets on the Sunday closest to Veteren's Day. At the start of the service, they ask all vets and people who are serving currently to please stand. I did with the others there. The service continued.

A Sunday or two later, I was leaving and a woman in her 30s who I don't know, came up to me and said "didn't you stand and show that you were a vet last Sunday"? I said yes I did. She reached out and took my hand and shook it and said "Thank you very much for your service". I was speachless, tears welled up in my eyes as she shook my hand. I said you are welcome mam, I have never been thanked personally by anyone before. That is because I had not been, and that woman changed my life. I didn't know how much I needed that.

You may never know how much it may mean to someone when you thank them for there service.
