I was mistaken, I only get 5mbit upload. But Jay, I do get sustained speeds, contrary to what you may think.

I sit on newsgroups all day downloading and hit very close to 4MB/second download speed.

After my 2 year contract ended my DL rate was raised 50% for no reason that is apparent to me.

Before it ended my DLs maxed at 620ish Kb/s, now around 950ish.

The same thing happened to me, my ISP doubled my internet speed with no reason for the same cost a few weeks ago.

By the way, my monthly fee is u$d 36 (NOW) for an 1.17 MB ADSL broadband connection.
