Cams Measurements

Hi guys,

I am looking for the base circle measurements for both the intake and exhaust cams.

Tried the search function with no luck.

A quick reply is highly appreciated.

I would be able to tell you this if I was at the shop. Check DynoMatt's old thread. There was heavy discussion of base circle.

Its quoted in the book at 28mm, but then it also says that the lobe height is 39mm, which would give a 11mm lift. I think the diameter is right the height is wrong.

I just measured the width of a stock intake and exhaust cam, and got 1.26".
That converts to 32.0040mm
The total height was 1.57" on the exhaust, and the intake was 1.53".
These m,easurements are from Harry's engine, and right now forget the miles on it.
1.57" = 39.8780mm
1.53" = 38.8620mm
So, the exhaust lift at the cam is 7.874mm
and for the intake it's 6.858mm.

I have read an old thread as I was searching and you mention the same data and you also said that "the book is wrong again"
