Thumbs up Recommedation for windscreen glass replacement and tint company

I've seen a couple of other comments on windscreen replacement in recent threads, so since I've just had mine done and am really happy with the work, I thought I'd pass on the info.

It was done by Instant Windscreens. The company is national but owned by three brothers so its not a franchise.

The workmanship on both the windscreen and tint is excellent and the replaced outer weatherstrips have been reattatched and aligned perfectly.

The replacement glass doesn't come with the attatched inner moulding the OEM glass does, so they had to fabricate one. All their work, including the new moulding, has a lifetime guarantee and they did the new moulding in a way that can be reused should it ever need replacement again.

They were also the only company I could find up here, out of about a dozen I rang, that could source a windscreen with a blue/grey sunstrip at the top. Everywhere else only had green which I didn't like the idea of at all!. (and no way could I afford the original bronze)

They told me it was a pretty tough job and had to redo a couple of things until they were happy with it. So if anyone does go with them, I'd suggest having the branch call the Townsville guys so what they learnt can be passed on.

Tania.
p.s. I don't have many pics of the car and none show the windscreen clearly, but will take some if anyone is interested.

Windscreen - $365 including fitting
Fabricated moulding - $60
Removal of original and retint of all windows in 35% - $300
(think lighter is a little cheaper)

So pretty close to what you were quoted, Cam. I know the windscreen cost them $313 + GST. The day I rang for a quote the owner was in town for the day and it was him that I spoke to. When I picked it up the guys that did the work told me they wouldn't have dared quote as low.

But there still seems a little wriggle room

Tania.
