I asked the parts manager and he told me that they don't have LEs in the US but the on the part catalogue (star system) the parts are there. Usually the LE parts are the same as the parts for L... So the LEs will have cloth/leather seats. Leather interior (not seude) and gray plastics.

There was a red 94 on ebay with autobelts and 1 bag that was advertised as a LE... It was like a week ago - probably still searchable.

I bought the 94' SVX in question that was on Ebay. It is indeed an LE edition, with motorized mousebelts. The dealer sent me pictures of the interior.

94 models

In Canada they have a 94 model and a 94 1/2 model. I have been told that due to the complaints Subaru received regarding the automatic seat belts they decided to change them to regular style seat belts. Unfortunately they could not get the tooling done for this until part way through the 94 production run. This is why they labelled them a 94 1/2 to differentiate between the auto seat belts and regular seat belts. To the best of my knowledge this was on all 94's sold in Canada.

Let me get my VIN decoder here:

This is what Chilton's manual has to say about this VIN. Remember we are talking all Subarus from 1990-1996

3 - Vehicle Attribute / Engine type [3.3L]
2 - Model [2= Base, 3= L, L+, 5= LS, LSi]
5 - Weight class and restraint type -- w/o passive rest. and airbag
4 - Check digit ????
R - Year Model Year [ N=2,P=3,R=4,NA=5,T=6]
X - Plant of manu -- Tranny type [K=FWD 4AT, X=Full time AWD 4AT]
101101 Sequentiual number -- [100000 and after - 2 dr coupe, 210001 and after 4 dr, and 310001 and after - station wagon

Hope this make things clear for all. Enjoy the new vin decoder.

Notice how damn early this car is made in the sequential line? it's 1001 or is it 001 what ever the damn thing is, it's the early model Base model SVX.

so LE is base, then L, then LS, and LSi

So guys, if you own a 94L, there is another model below you, that's the LE.

Lwin

ps. if i recall my VIN for my 94 from memory, it's JF1CX3350RK1.....

so, 335, thus the second 3 makes it a L
