5 Speed Manual Swap

Hey guys, I really want to do the 5 speed manual swap but I really don't have the confidence, know how or experience doing these things.
I really want to learn and I was wondering if someone who has done the swap before would want to do the swap with me.
Thanks, Jordan.

There are two of us "E" has a 5 speed and I who had a 5 speed but now has a 6 speed. May be "E" can help you as I am away from Sydney.

Heya, it'd be really helpful to meet up with yo guys

I'm in a massive stressful crisis right now with the car, it probably hasn't been serviced in just under a year, the front right CV shaft is gone, the rear diff seal is gone and probably much more problems that I haven't found..
Worst of all it is due for registration on the last day of this month.
I'd love to be thinking about doing a 5speed swap but I really need to get these things done first and ASAP, it'd be great if one of you guys wants to give me a hand with it otherwise im gonna be spending about $2500 servicing + pink slip + CTP + rego.
I want to learn how to do these things myself and even if I decide to make time for it, I really don't have the space for putting the car up.
So if somone wants to help me out, I will be soooooo grateful. I don't have much to offer back besides money and I am willing to let go of my plates if someone wants them.
Please help.
Jordan.

Removing CV joints is a pain the first time but you get very good at it once you've done it a couple of times - just ask anyone who has owned an L-series wagon. I learned on an L-series, and I have replaced all of them on the SVX's. It'll take you about a day to remove them both the first time, but I can whip them out and replace them inside of an hour each side now.

With CV Joints, I removed mine and took them to Universal CV Joints in Ingleburn (on Aero Rd). They were reconditioned for a very good price and the quality was outstanding. While the hub is off, clean up the undercarriage of the vehicle with a paintbrush and an icecream bucket with a tiny bit of petrol, that'll remove all the grease it has spat out.

While you have the calipers off, it is a good time to check brake pads and replace if necessary.

The rear diff seal, I can't help you with that one, but someone who has done a tranny swap may have an insight on the rear diff.

Oops, I guess I should amend my "Location" to reflect the fact I've been moved!

Sorry mate, I'm a bit far afield for that - I am located in country Victoria for the moment, or I'd zip around and take a look.

Front outside CV joint put your head under the car and you will find grease from a broken rubber boot in behind the front discs.
