Well Iam preparing for probably the worst summer ever, my tranny has unexpectedly crapped out on me, and I don't havethe money to fix it, and besides relying on everyone else for transportation, I still love my svx. Iam just going to keep it in the garage and save up to fix it and in the mean time find a really cheap beater car. well just wanted to say hi anyway. later

commuter, not to take from the original thread, but I am interested in the whole 5 spd thing. If you have done this, and or have experience, I would like an info you have on it.

In particular...

I heard the conversion costs about $4000.00 if you just "have it done" and that parts are just around $900.00. My deal is, I in no way have any idea on how to do this conversion, and am VERY interested in doing it (BEFORE the 10 Anni Meet).

So feed me the info, pls of course.

Does yours still have the same symptoms? I would like to come take a look at it. Mine did the same thing this morning. Give me a call.

hey mike, yeah the symptoms I was describing to you were just the beginning now the car doesn't go above 30 without having to practically red line the car. Oh well, and yes I do plan on having the 5sp done just not sure which parts to actually get. |See my I plan on doing alot of work to the svx and need a transmission that will be able to handle the excess power and torque.

I still have the automatic. I just know of the posts on the site here. I know of 3 five speeds now. Huck, Brian Steel and a more recent one by svxed that's a do-it yourself.

Seems like the way to go. I'll most likely stay with the auto as I spend time in stop and go everyday.
