Saw a meet on Saturday

It was another model-specific car group in the local Sears parking lot. Anybody want to take a guess at what they were?

I don't want to take a guess, but, I know it's pretty darned bad when you have to DREAM a meet. I actually dreamt I went to a meet last night. There were six cars and none of the people in my dream were people I've ever met in my life, much less at previoius meets. That was really weird.

BTW, I still relish the moment in VT when we were at Texas Falls and the Alfa Romeo club came down the road. The lady looked up from her Spider and said, "We don't have as many cars as you guys."

Randy, when you start dreaming about the SVX, it's really bad. Think of flowers and waterfalls and sunsets when you go to bed. That might help. Or you might dream of SVXes in paradise island. BTW, what colour were they?

...or previous lives???

..much less at previous meets or lives...

You KNOW you drove this car in a parallel universe in a parallel life.

I think it's clear that your soal mate took the form of a car this time around.

There were two Barcelonas, a Brilliant, another Pearl and a Teal. (Yes, I dream in color).

I have yet to meet a person who says that they don't dream in color.

That'd be too easy and not worth mentioning. They weren't Mustangs or F-bodies...

...screw it. This could take all day and by then I will have lost what little interest I have in this topic.

They were Ford Contours. About ten, maybe 7 of them silver. Most looked like SVTs (or at least SVT posers, which would just be sad).

None of the owners milling about looked like they were over 20 years old.

My point is that when even my wife (who calls me a car snob regularly) turns her nose up at them, it's funny. While leaving Sears, I must have seen just as many Contours go by on State Street as were attending that meeting.

Look, I'm sure they love their cars just as much as we do ours. But these were all kids, most whom, I would be willing to bet, do not make their own car payments. And how many of them are going to own those Contours in 5 years?

So, yes, my nose turned skyward just a little. I wanted to stop and ask them how they were organized, if they were all local, etc. But, to be totally honest, the only reason I wanted to do that was to show off the SVX.

Now are we showing a little snobbery? We don't have the only cars in the world (as much as we think we do). But not everyone can own an SVX. If everyone did, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun!!!
