Too bad we didn't have this thread last summer, then I could have written one of my famous long posts . Now all I can think of is water condensation in my tail lights, but that isn't really a problem now, is it?

Err..... problem.... problem..... thinking .... my tank is almost empty? Bah... even I know how to "fix" that one....

...still thinking....

heh! thought of one. got a few small rips or tears in the leather on the outer side of the driver's seat where the seatbelt didn't retract properly and snagged it when closing the door. Was like that when we got it. We just try not to make it any worse and frankly ignore it.

Hope that's enough... I'm' all thunk out tonight

Well, since I've only had my car for a day, I'm not yet acquainted with all of her problems, but these are the ones I know for sure:

- almost everything about the driver's-side door (heavy rust, power locks button doesn't work, 3 window switches inoperable, interior fake wood-grain moulding damaged, felt liner missing in "door tray," speaker grill rusty)
- passenger-side door has rust bubble, felt liner missing in "door tray," door tray has a giant crack, $2.25 floating around in door (see previous comment)
- dome light burned out
- map light button light burned out
- passenger side rear window doesn't always work
- sunroof sticks
- the dreaded rear wheel-well fender rust on both sides
- ashtray cover won't stay closed
- scuffs on the hood and rear bumper
- shifter is sticky
- the after-market Sony CD player annoys me (beep, beep) and the power antenna isn't connected

They're mostly minor/cosmetic problems, thankfully. No major mechanical problems that I've found yet.

Mmmmmkay, here goes
---Interior--
► Missing drivers side door sill
►Missing a few woodgrain peices
► no radio. Just a gaping hole
►no passenger side airbag. Another gaping hole.
► the headliner doest match the car...but thats Subaru's fault for not making one that does
►Seats are looking more like shag carpet than suede
►faded rear headrests and faded main dash ecsaine thingy
--Exterior--
►Dent in the door
►spoiler chipt for teh win!
► One wheel is the wrong silver shade (Its a spare)

--mechanical stuff--
►Need cv joints / axles replaced
►Exhaust has a leak
►Tires are 90% dead

--Other--
►ABS doesnt work
►sunroof doesnt open
►Blown rear diff? Rear wheels dont spin
►power seat motors bad? Have to move them manually
►Oh wait.....Its an L model. Never mind all the "other" problems

But hell, this is pretty good. The car goes when I step on the gas, turns when I rotate the wheel, and stops when I use the brakes.

-Just brought back from the land of Insurance totals
-Semi-motorized sunroof with the familiar "push to start" system
-14 mpg
-Shudders occasionally at red lights
-Performance drop and acts like it's flooded at 2/3rds throttle.
-Probably by far the ugliest exterior SVX on the road today.
(But it's at the paint shop getting that fixed as we speak.)

No, I grabbed that 2.25$ before I got out of the car yesterday. As of this morning, that money is in me belly in the form of some tasty BBQ beef jerky from the Sunoco across the road from work

Heh, don't forget that the TCU is throwing some codes. We still need to check that. We may be able to fix the power antenna and replace the crappy sony CD player, but I don't know what condition the wiring harness is in... also, your centre console is loose and missing the open button. And speaking of loose, your driver's side visor has the dreaded droop, and your rearview mirror is kinda floppy (probably from the former owner's subs (GRRRR!). Side bolsters on both your front seats have wear marks.

Well, here goes for Alice (the Silver):

- clearcoat on both front fenders and front bumper is cracking and peeling off.
- colour on the hood doesn't quite match the rest of the car.
- paint overspray on the hood emblem.
- driver's side fog light doesn't work, even after changing the bulb.
- various dings in the doors; not too many major ones.
- rust starting on edges of both rear fenders.
- rust starting in a rear quarterpanel scratch that went down to bare metal.
- main catalyst heat shield is loose and makes exhaust buzz at 1500rpm.
- spoiler has a small chip in the paint.
- both door locks are seized; only the keyfob can unlock the car.
- WRX CD changer doesn't quite fit/line up properly.
- centre console is loose.
- 'D' light for 'Drive' in the gauge pod doesn't work.
- Driver's seat has wear on the outside bolster; all other seats PERFECT.
- Passenger side dash speaker might be getting a buzz to it.
- driver's side tail light has condensation.
- tires are unevenly worn, causing vibration at highway speeds.
- rear brakes are shot, including parking brake.
- transmission is dying and leaking ATF everywhere.
- suspension is getting really floppy; sway bar bushings? springs? struts? all of it?
- missing plastic part of the remote trunk release lever.
- clunk coming from passenger side front; probably a ball joint or tie rod.
- throws a Check Engine light sometimes in rainy/damp weather.

There might be more, but I can't remember at the moment.

Fun thread! Whee! Actually, some of these other cars' problems make me feel not so bad about mine, though it will still require a major investment to fix. Not as much of one now that I'll be working at a Subie dealership

I need...

~a keyless entry remote
~probably new spark plugs soon
~new oxygen sensors
~touch up paint
~Also need to get rid of the small dents.
~The thing to keep the hood up
~New trunk opener latch

If and when the tranny blows up I will be doing the 5 speed conversion.

Luckily that is pretty much it.
