I havent personally used them, becasue i was blessed with good struts, But they do work. Its basicly just a pipe that slides over the strut arm. A refined stick holding it up you could say
But hell, for a few bucks more you can just get a good set of used oem struts

If I hear a creek creek than I jump out of the way before the hood hits my head.

Or I use a broom stick handle that I cut to length.

I've been smack by the hood so many times.. It always stays until I put down my guard. Smacked me two days ago when that fancy 50 cent billet cap I got from PWR failed. Grumble...

Seems like it would work, But I've seen better ones on there. I use a pair of vise grips.

There is a thread somewhere about a hood strut retrofit. I broke down and bought a new set. don't get into the habit of putting things on your intake manifold. Also If you get used ones, chances are the will fail within a year.

The retrofit procedure can be found in svxcuseme's locker here:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/use...vxcuseme|29912

It is a fairly easy modification and does the job a lot beter than the stock ones, at half the price.

My Idea

I had this idea years ago. I used PVC pipe. I thought about marketing and selling per application. Someone beat me to it. I wouldnt have ever done it anyway.
