I understand the feelings here, but you should not threaten anybody here with bodily harm or anything else as far as that goes. I will try to get in touch with him as well. Thanks.

AHHh. Earl, could you take all of these posts out of THIS thread, and into the other, such that the original topic of this thread may be kept.

Second, If worst comes to worst, you can report the plates stolen. you loose out a seat skin and transmitters, however you don't get violations/etc on your insurance/registration

As for the japanese content of vehicles... ehh, that whole "content" sticker is pretty much BS. Hell, it says a Talon TSi is 70% US as well. Yeah, it was Assembled here, but the motor, trans, every interior panel, frame, all electronics and wiring all came straight from a plant in japan. those things don't take into account where the money is going either, which is fairly dumb in my opinion. take that Talon TSi, I'd bet that at least 70% of the money ISN"T going to the US.

update

Its not the point of the violations its the point that this clown has told me he sent them twice already so I figured I would wait and give him the benefit of the doubt (I'm too nice) with the latest excuse that he got it returned to him a week after he sent it from a different post office . He also told me he mailed it last week on the 12th but now he says he wont until I pay for ???

I dont know how he could screw up my address it was on the title and I sent it to him I dont how many times

He's just acting like an immature teenager but I think I said that already as far as boxer when he is on AOL IM he ignores me completely I guess he knows he's wrong and doesnt know how to apologize

As far as the remote start things screw it I can get others but of course I have to put that expense out of my pocket for no reason

Then the seat skin ....

one seat in the car is ripped he told me he paid for a new seat skin at an upholstery shop but he didnt remember the name or number of the shop He had to find the invoice All I wanted was the name of the shop I even told him I would pay for shipping if he got me their number !!

Not to repeat but I explicity explained about the car both to him face to face and in person, he looked it over and agreed to take it and he signed a paper stating he accepted it as is where is with no warranty

Nothing stated he didnt have to return my stuff if he wasnt happy almost a month later

Pnyklr, I may have missed something in all the back and forth banter. My issue was you said "borrow" so that's what I said. If the car was in your name and let him drive it home with your plates and insured by you, and then the transfer was done in his state that's one thing. If you signed the title and completed a cash transaction, the plates needed to be removed right then. I see you have bigger issues over this, but I wanted to be clear in my comments. Also if you did indeed allow him to take the car, why did you keep one plate?

I kept one plate just in case I didnt get the other one back which of course is now the case

Like I said I gave him the benefit of the doubt (to be nice)all this time but I figured I would hold onto one just in case something like this happened
I just wish I wouldve got his address I only have the address of the previous owner of the car which wasnt him

Its a pain in the arse to spend at least an hour in the precinct (probably more) then another 3 hours in DMV just because this idiot wont send me the plate back

What's with people and letting people borrow plates? You can get a drive away for a few bucks at your local DMV or have the other party bring in plates. Your plates, your trouble... you know what I mean? If the guy hit someone with your plates and (on top of it, on your insurance), they victim can legally sue you. Just a thought.

I don't understand people lending plates to others.

I guess you didn't do a bill of sale either. If you had, you would have all the information that you would need. It states that the vehicle is sold as is and that would have helped you as well. There are two that can be down loaded in the How-To Documents. Just a thought for the next time.

Here's the deal seraph since I guess you dont understand

We traded cars my SVX for his Tbird

We did the deal in the morning I drove down to Maryland to meet him and he drove up from Virginia

I had NY plates on my car he had VA plates on his

In order for BOTH of us to legally drive home I allowed him to drive my car with ONE plate and I kept the car registered and insured in MY name which it still is (as far as I know) with my plate on it

He on the other hand traded me the T-bird with (supposedly) the previous owners set of plates since he never registered it when he got it

The dilemna is he can register the SVX since he's not out a set of plates in his name I AM its rather simple.

It was supposed to be he takes the SVX home sends me my plate ASAP and I register the Tbird with the SAME plate end of story but it didnt happen that way

Oh of course I did a bill of sale here's the problem

I typed up a bill of sale with the vin#'s and descriptions of the two cars and we both signed it with a statement saying sold as is where is etc...

The thing was that the title was in the person he bought the car's from name
(techincallly he cant even sell the car but thats a whole other issue)

So basically I have the bill of sale (actually trade) and I have a DTF-802 which is a bill of sale officially in NY, but it has the person's name on the title on it NOT his.

The funny thing (not really) is the last time I spoke to him and told him I was still driving with the VA plates and that the inspection was about to expire he was like oh Sh#t I dont know if those plates have insurance on them

This is I think the 30th or 31st car I have owned in my 20 years of driving so I know all the ins and outs of DMV, I just thought that he would send me my stuff and save me lots of AGITA (and typing)

PS he still has yet to respond to me

PS Seraph I have no clue what a "Drive Away" is but why should I go to DMV to get another temp plate(I'm guessing this is what you mean) suppose boxey boy didnt want the car then Im still out the time and effort

No matter what I'm getting the Sh$$ end since I'll have to eventually spend some time in the precinct and DMV real soon adn the car is just sitting since who knows the real story on those VA plates

Yes, I can see it is a bucket of worms, or something else. I guess we live and learn - the hard way. Good luck.

Another account to Hide? I don't think so. He may think so, but not the case.
